David Yerich, Director of eDiscovery at UnitedHealth Group, joins George Socha, Senior Vice President of Brand Awareness at Reveal, for ACEDS#eDiscoveryLeadersLive.
David returns to eDiscovery Leaders Live to talk about Microsoft’s O365, consolidation in the eDiscovery industry, and the changing dynamics of the corporate, law firm, and service provider triangle – and demonstrates how he can go dark with the tip of a cup.
“Email was almost a perfect eDiscovery tool…. When you think about it, it’s a time capsule. You have both the message about the document and the document attached and it’s put in a nice little wrapper and all the metadata stored. It was really great. [O365] has kind of taken that apart and now you have the message but you don’t have the document and the document many not be one that can be retrieved for very valid reasons.”
“Rising costs of doing business, your needs to have larger insurance policies, your needs on having security that’s maintained at the highest levels constantly is very much forcing smaller players to join forces in order get the economies of scale.”
“In my ideal world, I think the corporation benefits hugely from controlling both the service provider and the law firm because that gives you visibility in the entire process. It also gives you the ability to manage the overall productivity.”
